  • Organic Gluten Free Oats

We source our organic and gluten free oats from the business in Cambridgeshire which we know very well, as Anita use to work there as a Technical Manager, so we have full trust in them and their products.

Oats are naturally gluten free, however in current legislation they have to be declared as cereals containing gluten due to potential of other grains cross-contaminating them during farming. Our oats are farmed specially to prevent those contamination routes and every batch is laboratory tested to levels below 5ppm’s of gluten (current standard for gluten free declaration is 20ppm), so you can be certain that they wont cause reactions to your pet who suffer with gluten allergy.

Oats are a fantastic source of carbohydrates and are also very rich in proteins and dietary fibre. Dogs good balanced diet shout be based on ≈50% of grains per day, thus the reason we use organic gluten free oats as a base for all our biscuits.

    Organic Coconut Flour

Organic coconut flour we use if fairtrade, gluten free, high in fiber, vegan, unrefined and it does not contain any preservatives, dyes or artificial additives. Pure coconut if you ask us.

After the harvest, the coconut is opened, the coconut milk and the shell is removed. The coconut pulp is then gently dried and then gently ground. The processing is done with careful manual work and under high hygienic conditions. This ensures a great quality.

Coconut products contain a number of vitamins and minerals, including iron, sodium, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, iodine, vitamins B1, B2, B6, E and folic acid. Furthermore, coconut products are very rich in fiber, which is very good for the digestive tract. Coconut is also famous for its properties with helping with skin and fur in dogs.

    Organic Coconut Oil

Our organic coconut oil is 100% raw, extra virgin, cold pressed and of course vegan.

Virgin coconut oil is well known for its properties to support healthy skin and coat in dogs. Using virgin coconut oil on dry skin helps to hydrate your dog's skin and can lessen dandruff when used as a moisturizer. Adding coconut oil to your dog's diet will give you similar results to adding fish oil to their food in that it will help keep your dog's coat shiny and soft.

Coconut oil has also been proven to improve brain function as it was found in the study on coconut oil's medium-chain triglycerides having a long-lasting improved cognition effects on aging dogs (https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/20141643/).

Coconut oil can also improve the digestive health and immune system. It has antiviral and antibacterial properties which can help with preventing diseases and infections. It can also promote a normal thyroid function. In dogs, coconut oil improves digestion and helps relieve the symptoms of colitis and other inflammatory bowel disorders and additionally it helps to absorb nutrients.

Unfortunately, due to a high fat content, if too much coconut oil is consumed it can lead to some side health effects, especially in overweight dogs, thus make sure you don’t feed your pooch with too many of the tropical treats. We would recommend no more than 3 treats / day for small dogs under 10kg and no more than 6 for dogs above 10kg of weight. Due to a high fat content, tropical treats are not suitable for dogs following low fat diet or suffering with pancreatitis.

    Organic Pineapple Pieces

Our organic pineapple pieces are 100% organic pineapple with no added sugars or preservatives.

Pineapples are a tropical plant found in hot countries including Costa Rica, Brazil and the Philippines and are widely consumed around the world.

Our organic dried pineapple pieces have a delicious, sweet taste just like to fruit itself. Many vitamins and minerals can be found in the pineapple fruit, which can have a number of health benefits. Pineapple in any form can help support digestion and contributes to the digestive comfort.

Ripe, raw pineapple contains a whole lot of vitamin C, along with thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, vitamin B6, and folate. Pineapple is also full of minerals, including manganese, copper, potassium, magnesium, iron, and small amounts of calcium, phosphorous, and zinc. This makes it a nutrient-dense snack for humans and dogs, alike, and these nutrients play an important role in your dog’s immune system and digestive health.

Pineapple is high in fiber and contains a significant amount of natural sugar. This means that while pineapple is a perfectly healthy treat in small quantities, it can have adverse effects on your dog’s digestive system if fed in large amounts.

    Organic Flaxseed

Flaxseed is fantastic for dogs. It is filled with Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids which help to keep the skin healthy and coat lovely and shiny. Flaxseed can also give your doggo’s immune system a boost, as it contains alpha-linolenic acid very well known for its inflammatory properties. Our flaxseed is milled which helps with the absorption into the system, rather than passing thorough in the whole seed form.

Flaxseed is also rich in dietary fibre. It contains two types of dietary fibre – insoluble (60-80% - allows the water to bind the stool) and soluble (20-40% - helps regulating blood sugar and cholesterol). This is fermented by the gut bacteria, bulks up stool which can result in more regular bowel movements, so make sure you don’t have too much 😉

As like with any other ingredient, there is a potential of the dog consuming too much flaxseed and there is a possibility of flax poisoning, however it is very rare as it is generally very well tolerated. If your dog consumes flaxseed as a supplement please ensure your consult your veterinarian before introducing our rich in flaxseed treats like veggie, tropical and pumpkin spice.
