  • Organic Gluten Free Oats

We source our organic and gluten free oats from the business in Cambridgeshire which we know very well, as Anita use to work there as a Technical Manager, so we have full trust in them and their products.

Oats are naturally gluten free, however in current legislation they have to be declared as cereals containing gluten due to potential of other grains cross-contaminating them during farming. Our oats are farmed specially to prevent those contamination routes and every batch is laboratory tested to levels below 5ppm’s of gluten (current standard for gluten free declaration is 20ppm), so you can be certain that they wont cause reactions to your pet who suffer with gluten allergy.

Oats are a fantastic source of carbohydrates and are also very rich in proteins and dietary fibre. Dogs good balanced diet shout be based on ≈50% of grains per day, thus the reason we use organic gluten free oats as a base for all our biscuits.

    Organic Crunchy Peanut Butter

The organic crunchy peanut butter is a great source of energy, and the one we use only contains 100% peanuts. Peanuts are naturally a great source of protein (25% of their calories come from protein) and are perfect for maintaining a healthy diet. Additionally, dogs love peanut butter and is great to use as a treat.

Our peanut butter was made by roasting the whole peanut in their natural skins, then crushing them for a perfect crunchy texture, which you can very often see in our biscuits.

This vegan peanut butter is naturally gluten free, dairy free and does not contain any added sugar or sweeteners (like Xylitol), so is fully safe for dogs. It is also made without palm oil and have been certified palm oil free by POFCAP.

    Organic Fresh Bananas

In our biscuits we only use fresh organic bananas which are fantastic and work a treat with helping to combine the dough.

Bananas are naturally rich in potassium and vitamin B6. These two nutrients can help regulate blood flow and low blood pressure equates to healthier heart function. Vitamin B6 also can help with keeping the dogs mind sharp.

Bananas are also full of magnesium, which plays a major role in muscle maintenance. For active pooches, eating bananas can help make sure they maintain strong muscles.

Potassium in bananas can reduce calcium loss from bones. And the magnesium in them can promote a healthy bone growth.

Bananas are also a good source of dietary fibre which in combination with oats and peanut butter can help to regulate the digestive track.

Only downfall is that they do contain quite a bit of sugars (14g of sugar per medium size banana), so make sure you don’t overfeed your dog with Oaty treats as that may lead to some weight gain.

    Organic Fresh Carrots

We love fresh organic carrots as they are sweet and crunchy. Toby loves them and always knows when carrots are around. There is a saying “One carrot a day takes tartar away” so fresh carrots are great as a low-fat snack to keep your pooches mouth fresh and clean.

We use organic fresh carrots in our biscuits as they are a great source of beta-carotene and Vit A.

Beta-Carotene is the name that comes from the Greek “beta” and Latin “carota” (carrot). It is the yellow/orange/red pigment that gives vegetables and fruits their rich colours and it’s an antioxidant and a precursor to Vitamin A.

Vitamins support many critical roles in your dog’s diet and are essential for growth and health maintenance. Carrots are rich in Vitamin A, providing a host of nutritional benefits to your dog.  Beyond supporting eye health, it also assists in supporting a thriving immune system and healthy skin and coat.

Vitamin A is a fat-soluble vitamin, so it can build up in the body and become toxic, however the Vitamin A toxicity cases are not very common in the UK, however as a responsible owner we have to be careful to not over-do it with any item that contains Vitamin A.
